Faulkner Law Firm Obtains Defense Verdict in Two Week Wrongful Death Trial

On October 15, 2010, Faulkner Law Firm obtained a jury verdict on behalf of a family practice physician in a hard fought two-week trial. Plaintiff alleged that the physician had failed to appreciate signs of a pulmonary embolus leading to the death of a 38-year-old employed, married father of two children (ages three and four). The defense team, David Faulkner, Roger Gustafson and Brandi Chudoba, successfully argued that the patient’s presentation at the clinic with a history of shortness of breath was relatively benign and did not involve the classic symptoms of pulmonary embolus.

Faulkner Law Firm, LLC wins jury trial for SwedishAmerican Hospital

On September 10, 2010, a jury verdict was rendered in favor of SwedishAmerican Hospital in a case pending in the Circuit Court for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, Winnebago County. Lead trial counsel Roger Gustafson and assistant Brandi Chudoba successfully argued to the jury that the Hospital was not liable to the Plaintiff for injuries she allegedly sustained when she came into contact with a nurse working at the Hospital. Faulkner Law Firm congratulates Roger and Brandi on their win.

Rockford native, Michelle Landon, returned home to practice litigation following her graduation from Ohio State University Law School, where she earned cum laude honors. Before joining the Faulkner Law Firm, she practiced locally in the areas of general civil litigation, employment law, and workers’ compensation. Her practice also includes general business, banking, and commercial litigation as well as personal injury and insurance coverage disputes. A strong writer, Ms. Landon has extensive experience with appellate and administrative review. Her litigation and writing skills, as well as her familiarity with injury and medical issues, is now applied on behalf of the hospitals, physicians, and injured parties that turn to Faulkner Law Firm for their representation.

Ms. Landon earned a B.A. in Psychology at Northwestern University in 2001; she graduated with her JD, cum laude, from The Ohio State University in 2004. While at Ohio State, Ms. Landon received faculty awards for her legal research and writing and she served as an Associate Editor of The Ohio State University Law Journal.

Ms. Landon is a current member of the Winnebago County Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and Ohio and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
